Brampton City Hall Campus Expansion

Brampton, Ontario

Design Thinking: Located at a key intersection adjacent to City Hall, this new civic facility supports Brampton’s goals of urban renewal and attracting private investment by intensifying and revitalizing the historic urban core. Spanning two blocks, the building’s unique u-shaped footprint is an organic response to the site and context. The project includes a new nine-storey building, the West Tower, and a two-storey addition to the current City Hall. A new public forecourt provides a strong connection between the street and the public lobby.

Key Features:
The entrance lobby is a double-height space with a custom sculptural wall using a rose design that references Brampton’s Flower City identity. Red glass walls mark the building’s secondary entrances and central connective staircase. Acoustical wood panelling provides visual texture and robust vertical mullions create a rhythm of light and shadow. A pedestrian bridge over George Street connects City Hall to the west tower and doubles as a lounge with flexible seating.
